ChoicePoint has donated more than $1 million in products and services to the American Red Cross to help reduce fraud and ensure that the people affected by Hurricane Katrina received the assistance they needed as quickly as possible.

ChoicePoint's donation allowed Red Cross personnel nationwide to quickly validate identities and help ensure that individuals were from an affected area in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Since the screens were conducted instantly, the Red Cross was be able to reduce the amount of paperwork and the amount of time evacuees spend waiting for assistance, allowing the affected people to restart their lives more quickly. The product also reduced the potential for fraud by ensuring that individuals were from an affected area, which reassured the millions of people who gave so generously that their donations were actually received by the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
